Project Manager for Hangar Construction

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Ryanair is the World's favourite airline with 36 bases and 950+ low fare routes across 26 countries, connecting 150 destinations. By the end of November 2009 Ryanair will operate a fleet of 210 new Boeing 737-800 aircraft with firm orders for a further 102 new aircraft (before taking account of planned disposals), which will be delivered over the next 2.5 years. Ryanair currently employs a team of more than 7,000 people and expects to carry approximately 66 million passengers in the current fiscal year.

Based on the above information Ryanair require to expand our aircraft maintenance capability. Presently we have 3 facilities Dublin, Stansted and Glasgow Prestwick, due to the requirement for increased hangar capacity, Ryanair are in the process of choosing several sites throughout Europe to build hangars on a D&B process to fulfil this increase.

Duties Include:

  • Main contractor tender assessment and recommendation
  • Review construction contract conditions
  • Contract administration
  • Fulfil clients CDM co-ordinator role
  • H&S compliance
  • Liaison with airport authorities
  • Liaise with planning department/officer
  • Negotiate and control variations
  • Control utilities connections/contracts
  • On site project management through to practical completion
  • Cost control
  • Weekly reports
  • Monthly valuations and approvals

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Large construction project/site management
  • Construction contract negotiations
  • Employers requirements against contractor proposals
  • Variation control
  • Commercial focus/QS
  • Familiar with CDM co-ordinator role
  • Fluent written and oral English
  • Confident & upbeat personality
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills
  • Ability to multi task and able to work on own initiative
