The Opportunity
Technical Architect - Financial - London - required strong in Technical Architectural Design, Real Time Market Data Feeds (Reuters, Comstock, Infolect), Track record of delivering real time systems solutions, Scripting (Shell, Lua or similar), Linux, Java or .NET and Communications and Networks to work for an highly established financial client in London.

As the Technical Architect you will be responsible for assisting in the successful delivery of strategic initiatives through accurate and detailed analysis of business requirements for the IT Systems Architecture.
Duties will include consulting on technical architecture design; liaising with internal IT functions, Development, Operations and external 3rd party vendors; design, recommend and be responsible for end-to-end project level technical solutions; and providing recommendations.

Experience in Index design, Database Management and Design, SQL and Software Engineering is highly desirable.

Job Description:

Part of a new and exciting technical team that provides extensive technical support for Independent Software Vendor (ISVs) and other partners that develops products to work with the Avaya portfolio. Successful candidate will work closely with Business Development Managers to recruit, enable, test, and support DevConnect partners. EDS role is to help and support 3rd party companies to develop code against Avaya products. The DevConnect partners aim is to write code against the APIs to interface with their current products or for them to write proprietary code allow them to have addition advantages over other competitors. EDS team writes sample code, answer FAQs, tutorials, provide technical support, support Forums, host webinar for wide DevConnect members.

Required:

  • 5+ years (8+ desired) experience in XML, VoiceXML, Java, C/C++, C#, .net, SOAP, J2EE, CORBA, Tomcat, Web Services, SOA, VB, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

Desired:

  • Experience with enterprise communications (VOIP, UCC, Contact Center, Computer Telephony, SIP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Avaya products is highly desirable

Language Specialist, Italian (Dublin)

Facebook is continuing to expand internationally and, in support of this effort, we are looking for full-time in-house Italian Language Specialist. As a Facebook Language Specialist, you will be involved in ensuring that we deliver a great user experience to our international audience. This is full-time position based in the Facebook Dublin office.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as company’s representative for the overall quality of the language on our site. This includes supporting our community of volunteer translators, vendors, and internal groups within the company
  • Reviewing and approving community-supplied translations
  • Maintenance of the glossaries and style guides and performing various translation tasks, especially for highly sensitive content
  • Work with remote teams in different time zones

Requirements

  • Great attitude towards work and people
  • Native fluency in Italian language and near-native fluency in English
  • Strong familiarity with the Italian culture and trends in social networking
  • Familiarity with the Facebook Translations application as well as other computer-aided translation tools
  • Experience in the translation and localization space as a translator and/or project manager, especially in high-tech industry
  • Knowledge of additional languages (other than Italian and English) –desirable
  • An active Facebook user who is well-connected with the Italian culture
