724 Solutions, a worldwide leader in providing technology and solutions to mobile network operators, is looking to add to its existing staff supporting one of the Italian premier mobile operators. As a member of the 724 Solutions onsite team, the successful candidate would be part of a team supporting 724’s customer deployments of 724 products and customizations in Milan.
Scope of Responsibilities
· Serve as primary day-to-day technical contact for operations and support, problem analysis, product questions, and general troubleshooting as required.
· Participate as part of an on-call rotation to support after-hours production issues.
Representative Daily Tasks
· Supports and works closely with large Mobile Operator Clients Level 1 Operations / Support technical staff
· Tracks, manages and escalates Client issues through to resolution
· Isolates problems with little assistance from others
· Takes on special assignments with little guidance and direction from management
· Ability to perform troubleshooting and other problem analysis as required. For example;
o Isolate complex network problems with little assistance
o Reproduce and document complex problems in a test or other environment
o Identify software faults and isolate them to software module level
o Isolate hardware problems to unit level
· Assist with patch or new release deployment, user acceptance testing support, and production deployment
· Develops Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and performs tests required for change activities to be performed
· Log cases into 724’s incident tracking system
· Liaise with 724 Solutions’ Product Development organization.
· Ability to document, prioritize, and communicate Client issues
Other responsibilities, from time to time, might include:
· Participating in customer-specific development activities as customer requirements change and expand (eg: developing operations / administration utilities or scripts)
· Supporting the deployment of other 724 products
Experience Required
The qualified candidate should have:
- A strong technical background in Linux/Unix systems administration (Redhat Linux, in particular)
- A solid understanding of networks (IP addressing, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)
3. Background and experience in Web protocols and configuration, plus WAP, MMS, and SMS protocols
4. Shell and/or perl Scripting experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
Other Qualifications
- Wireless mobile network operator background in network engineering (vs. business applications).
- Wireless application development / support background is preferred.
3. Good Client communications skills
4. Good technical analysis skills to lead and drive Client problem resolution in a timely manner
5. Industry related Degree level education
6. Proficient with MS Office and Windows utilities.
